Is the newer model a direct swap?
It is the model Hoshizaki lists as the successor, so it does the same job at a comparable ice output. Footprint, electrical supply and water connections can still differ between generations - call us with your install and we will check it against the new unit before you order.
Can I still buy this one?
Only while our remaining stock lasts. Once it is gone it is not restocked, and parts for a retired model get scarcer and more expensive from that point on.
What happens to my warranty and parts?
The newer model ships with a full factory warranty and a parts supply that is not winding down. That is the practical difference between the two, more than the ice output is.

This compact undercounter Top Hat Ice Maker is the perfect addition to any hotel suite, office breakroom, or residential kitchen. The AM-50BAJ-AD is capable of producing approximately 55 lbs of Top Hat style ice cubes per day, and the built-in storage bin will hold up to 22 lbs of ice at a time. The Air-cooled design also features a Front in, front out airflow system that eliminates the need for side and rear clearance. The shorter height of the AM-50BAJ-AD complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act, making this one of the most accessible undercounter ice makers on the market. Perfect for fitting into tight spaces. Drain pump not included.
