Is the newer model a direct swap?
It is the model Hoshizaki lists as the successor, so it does the same job at a comparable ice output. Footprint, electrical supply and water connections can still differ between generations - call us with your install and we will check it against the new unit before you order.
Can I still buy this one?
Only while our remaining stock lasts. Once it is gone it is not restocked, and parts for a retired model get scarcer and more expensive from that point on.
What happens to my warranty and parts?
The newer model ships with a full factory warranty and a parts supply that is not winding down. That is the practical difference between the two, more than the ice output is.

This Air-cooled, Stackable icemaker features the EverCheck™ digital control system with LED display detects potential problems and notifies the operator before excessive maintenance or repair. The IM-500SAB requires a Single phase, 115v/60/1, Must be hardwired at site, no cord/plug included electrical connection that is hard-wired at the installation site.
