Filter Manifold Options for Hoshizaki (and When to Upgrade)

A filter manifold must supply the required flow and pressure for the connected Hoshizaki equipment while treating the site’s actual water conditions. More cartridges are not automatically better; the assembly must be properly sized and compatible.

Start with demand and water testing

Confirm peak water flow, pressure, cartridge capacity, sediment load, hardness, disinfectant chemistry, and the number of machines served. Compare those findings with current equipment and filter-manufacturer requirements.

Know when an upgrade helps

A larger or parallel manifold may be appropriate when added equipment, high usage, rapid pressure drop, or short cartridge life exceeds the existing system’s capacity. It should not be used to mask undersized piping or an unresolved water-quality problem.

Install and maintain correctly

Provide isolation, flushing, service access, pressure monitoring, and a documented replacement plan. A qualified installer should verify sanitation, flow direction, leak-free connections, and code compliance.
