Kevin Doubler, a graduate of Saint Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio, will attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where he plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Kevin stood out in high school for his strong mix of academic excellence, leadership, and service. He graduated at the top of his class as a Valedictorian nominee, was named an AP Scholar with Distinction, and earned several honors including the President’s Award for Academic Excellence, the Governor Mike DeWine Merit Award, and the Midwest Regional Rowing Association All-Athlete Award. He also completed the school’s Health Sciences Honors Program. On the athletic side, Kevin overcame a season-ending injury to help lead his crew team to a Scholastic Rowing Association National Championship in the JV8+ event. In the classroom, he was a team leader on two NASA-sponsored capstone projects, working with scientists at NASA Glenn Research Center to design lunar wheels and acoustic liners for jet engines. Service has also been a major part of Kevin’s journey. He’s been deeply involved in the Labre Ministry and the St. Joseph of Arimathea Pallbearer Ministry, and he’s traveled on mission trips to West Virginia to repair homes and to Tanzania to work with orphans. He also held leadership roles with the Rini Family Christmas Food Drive, the Latin grade school program, and a peer tutoring initiative. Outside of school and service, Kevin enjoys traveling, downhill skiing, weightlifting, and board games. At Purdue, he looks forward to focusing on sustainable air travel and applying his skills to real-world engineering challenges.
